DIY Project: Upholster a Bench

Craigslist and yard sales are some of the best places to find furniture when I can’t find the right furniture at the right price. People are always looking to unload things when they are moving. A great example is finding a bench. Though it could be a little shabby, you might have potential if you know how to reupholster a bench.

Why should you reupholster a bench? Does the bench have a strong frame, but maybe the fabric is really worn out? Was it once white but not so much anymore? Are the buttons too fancy for the simple frame? The stuffing is practically gone after years of use? It has potential–it just needs a makeover!

Upon closer inspection, The settee-style bench had a screw-in seat. All you need to do is pop out the seat, replace the foam, and recover the seat with fresh fabric. At most a 2-3 hour project. EASY!
