This guide will walk you through the measurements for the sofa, recliner, and chair to get the best fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-measure-a-sofa-cover\">How to Measure a Sofa Cover<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sofa covers come in various colors and designs. To protect the furniture, they should fit the sides, front, and back. And always consider how much stretch your chosen<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kovifabrics.com\/search\/multipurpose\"> sofa cover fabric<\/a> has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-prepare-the-materials\">1. Prepare the Materials<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project requires only a tape measure, pen, and paper. To hook the tape measure in place, use a case tape measure instead of a sewing tape measure. This makes measurements more accurate, especially for longer sofas.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-measure-the-arm\">2. Measure the Arm<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When measuring your sofa, it should be free from covers or draperies. Start by calculating the width of one arm diagonally and its depth from front to back. Compare the Recorded Measurements to Flap Measurements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re buying a ready-made sofa cover, analyze the measurements you wrote and compare them with flap measurements. For example, if your couch\u2019s backrest measures 32 inches, the back flap should be 12 inches long to reach the back.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It would be best if you also compared the seat width calculations. They need to be as exact as possible.\u00a0Compare the depth of the seat to the product\u2019s seat-to-floor flap. This part of the furniture cover is a matter of preference. Decide whether you want the sofa cover to reach the floor.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do the same for the arm measurements. If you want your sofa cover to protect the furniture, choose one with a long fabric overhang. Longer flaps ensure that the cover stays in place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-measure-a-chair-cover\">How to Measure a Chair Cover<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a chair cover, take the same measurements as the recliner. Prepare your tape measure, and record the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Arm width (diagonally).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arm depth (front to back).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Backrest height (top to bottom).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seat width (left to right on the inside arms).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seat depth (back to front).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chair covers also do not have a long overhang of fabric. But their arm flaps are longer than a recliner cover\u2019s arm flaps.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-attach-d-ring-straps\">How to Attach D-Ring Straps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some furniture cover types stay intact through hidden D-ring straps. Slide the tie through the two rings and double it back to fasten them. Put it inside the second ring and tighten it for a secure fit.\u00a0Check the rings to ensure the fabric will stay put.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-standard-measurements-for-sofas\">Standard Measurements for Sofas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to save yourself from the trouble of measuring, follow these standard sizes.
